Most cycles go to auction, and it is this procedure which allows them to find their most appropriate buyer. The auctions are intended for the trade and many will only sell to licensed traders, but many of these traders will bid on your behalf.

It is possible for individual buyers to take advantage of these markets by instructing other people to bid for them. The fact that the Internet now allows listings to be disseminated amongst the industry instantly means that it is possible to be very specific about what you are looking for. Even if you want items from a highly specialized area such as Harley Davidson salvage, you will be able to find what you need. If you have your own Harley Davidson and need parts, you can even get them by bidding on a salvage machine and then stripping it.

The Internet has changed the face of salvage auctions completely and made them accessible to far greater numbers of people. What you need to do to take advantage of this is get on as many mailing lists as possible of companies who will buy at auction for you. These companies will send you details of auction lots as soon as they become available, allowing you to see if anyone is selling exactly what you need. These companies can bid on your behalf for motorcycle salvage parts.
